10 reviews for Kylebooker Fly Fishing Vest Pack Adjustable for Men and Women

  1. BLT

Fits well with drawstraps tightened (I’m thin). Good amount of storage for a day on the river away from my vehicle. Fits my 3 liter camelback bladder with room to spare.

  2. Racette

Great fit and heavy duty.. Pocket and storage options are more than enough.. I use it for work.. Not fishing.. Awesome

I was looking for something not to break the bank, but let me see if I would like a vest as I have always used one kind of pack or another, figured I would get this before I spent the big $$ on a Simms or fishpond.

And all I can say is WOW, I will not be getting a fishpond or simms, why spend they money on a fishpond when this vest is almost the samething, I know because I went by the local sporting good store on my way out to give this a test.

This vest is awesome, plenty of storage space, light weight, adjustable and comfortable. I am so happy with this vest I’m beside myself. It looks to be built well and the price makes it a steal. If you think I’m joking pull them up side by side and compare, then look at the price difference. This is a know brainers.

After having it out on the water a couple times still feel the same way as this is a great vest so much so I have looked at there other products. Don’t know if there quality will be the same but as good as this vest is figured it was worth checking out.

I wear this hiking not for fishing. I hate a backpack, when you need something you have to take back pack off to get the item. I needed some pockets in the front. I love this. The two hard shell pockets are bit much for hiking, will remove those pockets soon. But the back pack part also expands a bit more, just hidden in a zipper pouch. Love the bladder pocket & strap area for straw. This was the only vest I could find that was set up to hold bladder. Many many pockets. Just hope the vest holds up for long time, only time will tell.

This is a great vest for the money. Lots of pockets and clips. I only recently purchased it so I can’t offer durability feedback yet. However, it appears to be of very high quality compared to other brands. I love the water pack so I don’t have to lug water bottles. And the convenience of having access to water while fishing is great. Don’t have to stop fishing for water. Bought a magnetic net clip for it and it works perfectly. Highly recommend.

First, I’ll state that I’m a somewhat new fly angler, and I’m 5′ 7″ and 185 with a medium build. I bought this vest to replace the basic traditional canvas vest that got me into the game. I quickly saw the limitations of that vest, so I’ve been using a sling pack setup for some time now. That, too, has some limitations, and I like the tradition of wearing a fishing vest.

Second, be aware that this item just arrived, so this is an initial review. It hasn’t been “field tested” yet. That’s the sole reason I did not give a 5 Star rating. I may upgrade the rating later.

One of the things that’s most surprising to me about the product description is that it does not call attention to or show pictures of the inside pockets. On each side of the inner lining of the vest, there is a Velcro enclose pocket and a zipper enclosed dual pocket (two pockets, one zipper). This is a key feature, and the seller did himself an injustice by not showcasing this. My camera (AKA smartphone) is going to ride in one of the upper pockets from now on.

As noted by others, there are pockets galore, so I won’t expound on that too much. The vest is very adjustable, with wide nylon straps on both the shoulders and hips. If you’re an average size, you’ll want to figure out something clever to do with the excess straps so that they don’t interfere with your fishing. I just doubled the excess back into the buckles…works nice for me.

Each shoulder strap has a small but well-placed D ring. I put my nippers on one, and I’m sure I’ll figure out something to do with the other. The web netting on the outer small pockets will serve me well for things like strike indicators and stripping fingers. I’m keeping extra line and tippet in one of the smaller outer pockets, and my retractors (hemostats) fit nicely into the MOLLE webbing on the left side. I’m actually going to have to discipline myself to NOT bring as much stuff as this vest will allow, otherwise I’d be weighed down. There are a couple of pockets on the back side, and I think I’ll use the smaller zippered one for snacks when I trek far from the madding crowd. I’ve got my landing net magnet attached to the loop on the back side.

I didn’t buy it for this reason, but I think the breathable venting is a good feature that will allow me to use this vest in the summer, not just in the other seasons. I intend to be as gentle as possible on the zippers. They don’t appear to be cheap, but my experience is that’s where the problems start with products like this. I’ll revisit that when I update this review.

Lastly, I do like the OD green color, but I’m not wild about the orange accent. As another reviewer suggested, I might cut off some of the orange cords. My experience is that they have an almost magical ability to snag fish hooks. In summary, with this vest my decisions are now much easier about what to take and what to leave behind in my Mobile Fishing Command Post (AKA Ford F-150). Tight lines!

UPDATE: I’ve fished with this vest about 10 times now, and so far I have nothing to complain about. I still have not exploited all of the storage possibilities, such as the hidden key retainer or the rear horizontal pocket. The left-sided zipper slider, which is normal for women’s garments, seems a little weird, but it’s a small thing and not really a bother once you’re used to it. The zippers and seams are holding up well….so far.

Great price. Vest is nice. Not top of the line by any means but for the price is very well made. Storage galore.

I bought this vest for wading rivers whilst steelhead fishing. So far I’ve used it only once.

The price is reasonable. There are a gazillion pockets and the vest holds all my stuff. Overall the best looks good and should fit the bill if the seams hold up and the zipper doesn’t break.

My buddy said it looked kinda small, but that’s probably because I like a vest to be snug.

I would like three dedicated plier/scissors/cutters open pockets.

There is one annoying thing and that’s the bassackwards minimal zipper. Why put on a lighter weight zipper for a vest that is prone to being heavy from all the fishing gear it will hold? AND why why why the backwards zipper usually found on women’s clothing? Holy not intuitive and weak.

I’m giving four stars but should a zipper fail, I’ll penalize with removing a star.

  10. Amazon Customer

Good quality, decent purchase for the money. Undecided on pockets. Seem some aren’t big enough others are too small. No fly patch. Both front pockets tilt out I have no idea what the purpose of it is. If unzippered and leaning you will lose stuff. However worth the money
