This was supposed to come with a reel attached but the two I ordered the reels were really clunky and jerky to turn. I tried seeing if anything was blocking it but nope looked to be internal

It’s a great rod and reel for freshwater fishing. I caught a 17’’ Catfish with it and some 50lbs Berkeley braided line. If your going saltwater surf fishing, I would recommend a different reel. I got some sand in mine and the reel is jammed. The main thing I don’t like is that the reel doesn’t even hole 100 yards of braided line. I’m getting a bait caster reel for it.

I bought this combo for one of my sons for Christmas and he is overjoyed with it. He is a crazy addicted Bass fisherman and it is perfect size for our area. The rod has great action and the reel is super smoothe too. You really can’t go wrong with this brand.

It’s a fantastic pole I love the 2 piece design I just throw it in my back pack and hike to my fishing spot. I use 10 pound line on this and I’ve been using jigs and spinners, and crank baits love the super sensitive tip

Reel is okay, although it seems cheaper than Lews Speed reel for $30. Could be better. With 15lb braid, I find myself constantly untangling the line from the tip of the rod. I never get this problem with my Eagle Claw rod. I’m thinking it’s because of the sensitive tip. It mainly happens when you put it in the rod holder or if you try and yank your bait back because you can see it’s headed for a tree.

I bought a customer return, when i got the fishing rod and reel there was gashing in the fishing pole eyelet’s (all of them), and the reel was unusable due to damage all over it ( looks like dropped off tuck). I tossed the reel and kept the rod. I used resin to fill voids and cured it. Thats the second fish on the rod, first one was a crappie.
